Dear HJIS Community,
We hope this email finds you well as we near the start of the HJIS 2020-2021 academic year.
We understand the uncertainty still surrounding the COVID-19 situation throughout Japan. Throughout the summer, the HJIS Administration & Crisis Management teams have been working tirelessly to prepare the following school reopening outline for our school community:
We are officially prepared to offer our HJIS families two (2) options to begin the year on Monday, August 17:
1) Send your child(ren) to school for regular in-person learning (preferred method).
- The school will have extensive safety measures in place to ensure your child(ren)’s health to the best of our abilities.
- You can review these measures in our HJIS Reopening Plan.
2) Keep your child(ren) at home to attend class virtually.
- This option is for parents who do not feel comfortable sending their children to in-person school.
- We have installed live stream AI cameras in all classrooms so students can attend class virtually from home.
- This is not the same as the distance learning programme.
- Students will be required to attend full length classes virtually and submit assignments at the same pace as their in-class peers.
- They will be held to the same attendance standards as their peers attending in-person school.
- This will only be offered on a short-term basis.
Again, we will be implementing many risk reduction strategies to keep your children safe and prefer you to send your children to regular, in-person school. Those of you that will send your child(ren) to regular, in-person school are not required to fill out this next form, however parents that wish to register their children for “Hybrid Learning” must sign up through the following link no later than Tuesday, August 11.
Please note, regardless of which option you choose, your child(ren)’s tuition will remain the same.

皆様いかがお過ごしでしょうか。2020-2021年度があと少しで始まろうとしております。
日本全国において新型コロナウイルスが取り巻く状況を、引き続き注視してまいりました。夏の期間に、HJISの管理職及び危機管理チームが、再開校に向けて以下の概要を準備いたしました。
1) お子さんを学校に送り、対面式の授業に参加する。(こちらが望ましいです)
- 本校はお子さんの健康面において最善策を尽くし、安全を確保します。
- 「HJIS再開校計画」にて、安全確保の対応を提示しております。
2) ご家庭からお子さんにオンラインで授業を受けさせる。（ハイブリッド型授業）
- お子さんを学校に送り対面式の授業に参加させることを好まないご家庭に向けて、こちらの選択肢も設けました。
- ライブストリーム用AIカメラを全教室に導入しましたので、ご家庭からオンラインで授業を受けることが可能です。
- ただし、この選択肢は、以前行なっていたオンライン授業プログラムとは本質的に異なります。
- 生徒たちはオンライン上で全クラスを決められた時間まで受ける必要があり、そして、対面式の授業の生徒に合わせた進度で課題を提出する必要があります。
- 授業の出席及び参加は、対面式の学習の期待値と同等です。
- こちらの選択肢は、短期間でのみ実施されます。
改めて、本校では、生徒の健康維持のための安全確保策を導入いたします。通常の対面式の授業に参加していただく方が望ましいです。対面式の授業に参加させる場合、以下の「ハイブリッド型学習フォーム」を記入する必要はございません。しかし、もしご家庭からハイブリッド型授業を受けさせたい場合は、8月11日(火)までに「ハイブリッド型学習フォーム」を記入してくださいますよう、お願いいたします。
いずれの選択肢でも、学費が変化することはございませんので、ご注意ください。
